World's Biggest Hexagon Quilt

Gail Chalker of Gatton writes about the world's biggest quilt that was displayed at the Brisbane Craft & Quilt Fair in October 2009 and the Brisbane Craft Expo in March 2010:

"It has now been 'chopped up' and I was very happy to make the first cut into the quilt. The quilt was cut into 115 individual quilts and are currently being distributed.
The first quilt given was to 6 year old girl who was run over in a quad bike accident and as a result has spent many months in plaster casts and a wheel chair. She was so delighted with her quilt and asked if she could take it back to hospital when she has more pins and plates removed. Her smile made us have a little tear in our eyes.
Another quilt has gone to New Zealand to be raffled to raise funds for a 'mens shed' for a nursing home in Amberley NZ who have quite a few elderly gentlemen. What a great thing for the men in their twilight years. "

What a fantastic effort for all involved!
